A very interesting further training offer in Switzerland thwarted my original intention to complete my specialist training in the USA after studying medicine in Hamburg, for which I had already passed all American state examinations.

What was initially only intended as a temporary measure, however, led me down a different path. I found excellent training conditions in Switzerland and, after two years of surgery, ended up with the excellent hand surgeon Dr. Mario Bonaccio. Not only did he familiarize me with the attention to detail and accuracy of hand surgery, but he was and is a great human role model.

Since then I have been fascinated by the complexity of hand surgery with its many different techniques such as bone, nerve, vascular, plastic and microsurgery. Switzerland quickly became my professional and private home. I was able to expand my already very good basic training at the Frauenfeld Cantonal Hospital, first as an assistant physician, later as a senior physician at the Aarau Cantonal Hospital, as a senior physician at the Olten Cantonal Hospital and as a senior physician at the Langenthal Hospital.

The fascination for the complexity of the hand has remained to this day and has become a passion. Whether young or old, pianist, athlete or farmer, everyone is looked after by our team with the necessary care and dedication. After all, every hand is the most important.
