Curriculum Vitae

I developed a passion for hand surgery right from my first training placement. Dr Lowka in Freiburg was an enthusiastic hand surgeon. Only after 2½ years of hand surgery with him did I begin my actual further orthopaedic and surgical training. During my entire training as a specialist surgeon, I never lost my fascination for hand surgery. After becoming a specialist surgeon, I also acquired the additional German qualification in hand surgery at the Accident Clinic in Tübingen. I honed my hand surgery skills in just under 5 years as a consultant and senior physician at the Bruderholz Hospital. I am also a specialist in hand surgery FMH.
To this day, hand surgery is an exceptional specialist field for me. Hand surgery is a highly specialised field due to the anatomical complexity, the particular demands on the surgeon with regard to microsurgical and special soft tissue technology and the need to be well versed in a number of specialist fields (surgery, orthopaedics, neurology, angiology, plastic surgery). Our hands require special attention and expertise.
