Orthopädie am Rhy

Basel, Rheinfelden, Liestal

Dr Christian Mauch

Specialist in orthopaedic surgery and traumatology of the musculoskeletal system FMH
Main focus: Shoulder, knee

For over 25 years, Basel has been the centre of both my professional and personal life. Early in my medical career, I specialised in the complex joints of the shoulder and knee. Their fascinating mechanics and the wide range of treatment options continue to inspire me and remain the driving force behind my medical practice.

A particular focus of my work lies in the highly specialised and modern surgical treatment of these joints. This includes both minimally invasive arthroscopic shoulder surgery and joint replacement – including robot-assisted procedures – of the shoulder and knee. In such operations, the highest precision, many years of experience, and a deep understanding of each patient's personal circumstances and individual needs are crucial to achieving successful outcomes.

My entire medical career – from training to co-founding the practice “Orthopädie am Rhy” in 2011 – has been rooted here in the Basel region. My primary goal is not only to provide medical care at the highest level but also to meet my patients as fellow human beings – with openness, empathy, and clear, understandable communication. I find a vital balance to the responsibilities of my profession in family life with my wife and our four children.
